Frequently Asked Questions
We integrate internet marketing, email marketing, search engine optimization, and customer conversion strategies into our website development projects. We understand what you're trying to achieve because we're small business owners and marketers too.
WordPress is an open-source content management system software that currently powers around 43% of all websites on the internet. The project is contributed by tens of thousands of developers all over the world and consistently growing in strength. WordPress allows us to develop flexible and customizable websites to modern standards and observes web development best practices. Furthermore, the community of web developers that use WordPress reaches far and wide and allows us to tap into this collective intelligence and bring a wealth of experience to your project.
We include web hosting in our website maintenance care plans. If you prefer to do self-hosting, then after your web design is complete we will migrate the site to your preferred hosting company.
We highly recommend WP Engine, but there are other options available to you. We are more than happy to discuss the pros and cons of each hosting provider with you.
Provided you subscribe to one of our ongoing website support packages, we will be your first point of contact should something go wrong with your website. We will determine whether it is something the hosting company needs to fix, or if it is covered by your website care plan. We also provide video tutorials to assist you post-launch.
Once your website is launched, we will provide 30 days of support to make sure any bugs have been ironed out and that you are confident in using your new website. After this, you will need to subscribe to our ongoing website care plans to make sure your website is looked after and maintained. These website care plans include updating your software, regular backups, security checks, etc. More information about our website care plans is available upon request.
The time it takes for your website to appear on page 1 of Google depends on a number of factors. It depends on the search phrase people are using to find your website and the number of other websites that are also available for those search phrases. Nobody can truly say how long it will take for your website to appear at the top of search engine results pages (including people who actually work for Google), however, there are a number of factors that can improve your chances. Building your website on WordPress is a good start as WordPress has some great search engine optimization fundamentals built in.
We will install Google Analytics software on your new website and show you how to log into your Google analytics account where you can see a wide range of statistics about your website including the number of visits, page views, and the number of times people are spending on your website. Once you subscribe to one of our website care plans you will also receive a more detailed analysis of your website performance and recommendations on how to improve.
While we like to be flexible and responsive to your needs, we also like to deliver what we promise within the time frames, and budgets we have allowed. If you ask us to add new features to your website while we are building it, we will most likely ask why. If we all agree that your new request will help us achieve our objectives then we will be more than happy to oblige. If your new feature is something that you would like to add to your website but is not directly tied to your original objectives then we will suggest scheduling it for a second iteration of the website once it has been launched. This will require a new proposal.
We are WordPress Consultants and digital designers. This means we have the ability to coach you through the process of the design concept to development implementation and live website launch. This saves you time, frustration, and money because you won't have to share your ideas with a consultant, who relays that information to a designer, then have to work with a developer to create the site.
The average time frame for our clients is about 5-7 weeks. However, it depends on how quickly client feedback and approvals can be given, and how much of the content/imagery/documents are ready to go before the project starts.
We have experience working with all the major 3rd party service and plugin providers in the industry. (i.e. Aweber, Mailchimp, Leadpages, Optin-Monster, BluBrry, Smart Podcast Player, SumoMe, Simple Podcast Press, etc.) Please let us know what types of plugins you would like to be added during the initial website consultation. All paid plugins will have to be purchased and provided by the client.
As part of the website design process we do create graphics, add stock images, and basic logos. However, if you have a specific images (I.e. professional headshots, stock photos, graphics, custom logos, etc.) that you want us to include in the design, you can send them to us and we will integrate them in the design for you.
We can create opt-in forms on your site that fits the design and aesthetics of the website we are creating. If you have a specific 3rd party-purchased plugin that you would like us to include we can integrate it for you (i.e. Thrive Leads, Leadpages, Optin-Monster).
We do have a logo designer in-house and can create logos for you by special request. However, we like to stick to our core expertise of building websites and packaging them nicely for you. Thus, we recommend using 99Designs for custom logo designs. We have personally used both of these services and enjoyed the experience.
We can install pretty much any type of mp3 podcast player that you like. WordPress is very flexible and has a variety of plugins available which gives you plenty of options to choose from. We typically install the BluBrry podcast player on our designs (which is also the player we use on our own site). However, we have experience installing the Smart Podcast Player, Simple Podcast Press, and more. (These plugins will have to be purchased separately by the client for licensing purposes)
