Great podcast episode! I’m deep in development of a new project and never even considered crowdfunding… brilliant idea!

    • Anthony Tran on July 26, 2014 at 9:58 am

Hi Maritza, I definitely think crowdfunding will be a great way for you to develop your next project. Maybe you can write a blog post about your results.

  2. Paul Colaianni on July 24, 2014 at 2:06 pm

Love the info on kickstarter, didn’t know much about it before. Love the story about selling something before creating it. Great take away! Good show.

    • Anthony Tran on July 26, 2014 at 9:59 am

Thanks Paul, I too didn’t know much about Kickstarter until talking to Jared. Sounds like a great resource to really test the market and get support from the community.

  3. Justin Williams on July 24, 2014 at 9:40 pm

This is simply amazing! Like Maritza, I should consider this option too. Thanks!

    • Anthony Tran on July 26, 2014 at 9:59 am

Thanks Justin! I know this could definitely work in your niche.

  4. Charlie Poznek on July 25, 2014 at 2:54 am

Such great ideas here, I love how you position crowdfunding as a way to test your market before investing tons of money. It actually seems to be a great way to make money by testing!!

    • Anthony Tran on July 26, 2014 at 10:00 am

I totally agree Charlie! Like Jared said “Marketing Before Production”

  5. Celest Horton on July 27, 2014 at 9:22 pm

I love Kickstarter! So glad it worked out so well to help fund Podcast Movement. It’s going to be a wonderful conference that will help lift the podcasting community.

    • Anthony Tran on July 30, 2014 at 3:34 pm

Indeed Celest, I really feel that Podcast Movement is going to take the podcast industry by storm and help many people take their business to the next level.

Thanks Anthony! Great episode. I love the idea of funding an event through crowd sourcing. I’ve never considered that. And… 9 hours… wow! Thanks for sharing Jared and Anthony!

    Hi Anthony
I have a question for Jared. Please, would you invite him here to answer it?
Which were the previous steps for the Crowdfunding campaign? You’ve got some promotion by podcasters friends, but how did you got everybody pay attention to the launching date? Have you guided everybody to a landing page in order to get their addresses or did the podcasters mentioned the launching date? We know it’s all about momentum.

    • Jared Easley on April 30, 2015 at 7:35 am

Hi Adrian, Thank you for the question. We rallied the troops. We contacted all of our immediate podcaster friends & asked for their support. We pointed them to the Kickstarter page on the day of the launch. We also had 4 of us working as a tag team on that day. I wish I had a better answer. I believe we were fortunate to be offering the right opportunity at the right time. The market wanted it. We did a lot of research to prep for the crowdfunding campaign. I highly recommend that you consider adding http://crowdfundgenius.com to your resource list for prepping for your next Crowdfunding campaign.
