How to Set Domain Nameservers Video Transcript:
Okay so in this video I’m going to show you how to basically set your domain name that you just purchased and your web hosting account and really link them together. Alright, let’s get started!
You’re going to go to your GoDaddy account and you’ll want to log in and you’re going to click on ‘MANAGE YOUR DOMAINS”. Once you get inside you’re going to basically select the domain name that you need to set up. In this case for me, it’s MarketingAccessPass.info. So I’m going to go ahead and click on that. Now once you get here you’re going to see the words ‘Nameservers’ and you’ll want to click on the button that says ‘MANAGE’. So once we get to here we need to grab the name servers from our hosting account. So in this case I’m going to go back to HostGator. So here we are in HostGator the control panel and once you’re in the HostGator you’ll want to scroll all the way down to the bottom and you’ll want to find out your account information and the very first thing that you see is ‘Name Servers’. It’s a really funky address but you’ll want to highlight that. Go ahead and copy that. What I’m going to do is I’m going to go back to my GoDaddy account and add this to my custom name server. So I’m going to click ‘CUSTOM’, ‘ADD NAME SERVER’ and I’m going to paste it on the very top line. So since there’s two name servers I need to go back to HostGator and copy the second one. So I’m going to copy the second name server and I’m going to go back to GoDaddy and paste it right here. Once I have both name servers pasted I’m going to go ahead and click ‘ADD NAMESERVER‘ again and then click ‘OK’. So what’s going to happen is it’s going to take probably about 15 minutes to possibly a couple of hours for this information to migrate and speak together to both GoDaddy and HostGator. So just be patient and watch it in the next video and we’ll show you how to go on with the next step.
